I have heard of it, but never seen it even though Lee Pace is one of my favourite actors.
    Trailor looks very good!

I've seen it - it is quite a disturbing film.

What particularly makes it disturbing is the knowledge that it is based on a true story.

I don't think it's due to be on TV. It's available on DVD.

OK - I should say more.

I found myself able to identify with Calpernia Addams in the film - the script writer was evidently someone very familiar with the ins and outs of being trans. Of course, that added to how disturbing I found the film.

Would I recommend it? As a portrayal of some important recent trans history, yes. As a piece of light entertainment, definitely no. Overall, yes, though I wouldn't see it just yet if you aren't in a good place in yourself.

Of course, all of the above is based on my perspective of being a trans woman myself. If you aren't trans, and would like to have a peek into the world of trans, and aren't too upset seeing an act of inhuman cruelty depicted, then go see it.
