How to correct error in ROI Vat Returns

Does anyone know how you go about correcting Vat errors from previous returns submitted in ROI?

I know that in UK, any error up to £10,000 can be corrected in the current period vat return by the agent. Is there a similar threshold in ROI?

also, is there any time limit in correcting errors?

    All replies welcome

Best thing to do would be to register for Revenue's online service (ROS) where you can amend previous VAT returns or submit a supplementary return for additional sales or purchases etc alternatively you can request paper copies of the periods you want to amend.

I believe that you can self correct any VAT errors in your next VAT return due up to €5,000 without having to make a disclosure to the Revenue but am open to correction on this as I have not being working in practice since the beginning of the year.
