    Does this include DART tickets?

    Very nice:

    O2

10% Discount on phones bought on line.

    Enter Voucher Code IRISHRAIL

Damn you beat me to it.

Certain rewards do not require purchase:

e.g. 10% off O2 phones online via code: IRISHRAIL

Bit poorly organised - no information on what constitutes a 'valid ticket'.

Still not worth the prices Irish Rail charge, ridiculous

Got a return trip from heuston to cork for €16. (tenner each way booked online with 20% discount) Cant argue with that :)

It looks like a great offer, but the website has NO info on the terms and conditions. What constitutes a valid ticket? Are IE smart cards included? etc, etc.

If anyone gets anymore info, please let us know.

Again same question - how did you get the discount? Details?

You certainly can argue when most of the tickets available are airplane prices.

Discount was posted here on Bargain Alerts. Read back through some of the threads.

There are often "tenner each way" trains - usually a few each day - for example the 10am train Dublin to Cork next Wednesday, and the 5:30am train Cork to Dublin next Thursday. As with all travel outfits, peak time prices are higher, but if you can be flexible you'll generally find better prices.

Irish Rail's twitter account offers discounts from time to time, like the one below:
Book by midnight tonight for 15% off all journeys - incl Bank Holiday w/e! Book on www.irishrail.ie using discount code TWT1061 11:54 AM Jun 1st

I'm sure they probably offer discount codes other places as well.

I think what Wil is highlighting is that the majority of train times are a rip-off. Sure there are the red-eyed times morning and night, which I can happily avail of given I have a flexible schedule. But for people who have no choice for various reasons, you can't argue that the majority of prices at normal "god-fearing" times are an utter rip-off.

by the way nice edit on your post which still shows up in my subscription on gmail ;): "Despite the demanding tone of your post, here you go - a minimum amount of work on your part would have yielded this information." Hence my reply.

Fair enough, I thought better of it within seconds of hitting post, and edited it to a more polite response, but that is what I'd originally written.
