I would suggest changing the blue and yellow colouring you have going on. Also, when you are on a page, that page marker on some of the top menu is black, it's quite hard to see. Another nice thing might be to squeeze it into the middle of the page. Just have some sort of margin on both sides and maybe on the top too.

Maybe have an about page with details of the company. An address is usually good idea, customers are more trusting of a website with an address on it.

Finally, your seem to have different contact links on different pages, one even is broken, I would suggest looking into learning CSS to keep everything consistent and easy to change.

Other than that, your products look really nice :)

    Hi,

For a home designed site you have done a good job.

I do believe however the 'Home Made' feel of the site may turn off a lot of people from using it - it feels like I'm looking at a site from 1999.

You have a nice range of products but I do feel the online shop and the sites turnover would benefit greatly from a more professional site.

In terms of the site itself -
your 'copy write BlueRoseWaterford' needs to be updated to 2010 on all pages except your 'Hair' and 'Hair Colour' pages.

When in the 'Teens and Kids' the menu item for it disappears.

Your blue rose images on either side of the home page banner don't match the colour of the blue banner.

Best of luck with the site!

I'd recommend a bit of redesigning. You could get a nice template and rework most of the existing content into that. There is a good bit of content you are missing, more on that later. Make sure it's a div-based, not a table-based design.

Your logo would make itself. 'Blue Rose' in a subtly, not overly stylised but easy to remember/recognise font with your current or another blue rose.

On the homepage, set out your stall with 3-5 of your best sellers. Address your customer's issues and call them to action. Put up special offers and any free offers you can. Don't forget to mention chemo, carefully mind you.

Provide About Us and delivery info pages and put your postal address and perhaps even a map on the contact page. Some samples on real people might also be a good idea.

I'd rearrange the product list pages into a vertical list, maybe 2 columns, and have more text info on each product and a slightly smaller thumbnail. When the product is clicked it should open in the same tab and have the Add to Cart option after the text. Put the prices in a better logical position nearer each product, even if all the prices on the page are the same.

Try to work out some ties-ups with wig suppliers as many customers will be looking for both.

Get some testimonials. People starting chemo rely and trust these more than regular markets.

Check your site in the main browsers for display irregularities. The header has problems with Firefox

Read up a bit on search engine optimisation re headings and bold text. Put Google Analytics on your site and learn how to use it.

Left align your content text, do not centre align. Left aligned is good for readability as the eye catches the left edge well.

List your address, RBN, phone, copyright info, terms and conditions/privacy items in the footer on every page.

    that's it for the mo

Look into some Wordpress themes. I was the same as you this time last year, battling away wth HTML. Then I bought a theme subscription and my sites look way better. I use Elegant Themes, cost around €30 a year for a lot of themes (and new ones all the time). They just recently released an E-Store theme, would make your stuff look cool.

May I suggest getting real people to wear the hats? Those manequins are freaking me out!
