No BBC teletext on UPC analogue

It's been gone from BBC 1 and BBC 2 for a few days now :( I rang UPC today and the rep said BBC have shut it down! I'm a little incredulous about this as I saw nothing about it anywhere. I'm sure BBC would have announced it loudly beforehand. Anybody know what's going on? Thanks :)

UPC where rebroadcasting the DVB-SI text in parallel to MHEg5. Ceefax was discontinued as DVB-SI quite recently. They now use MHEG5n. But you need a sat dish or be replety of a DTT suitable equipment to receive it.

Here in Bray it's gone from BBC 1 and 2 on digital, and BBC 1 analogue but is still there on BBC 2 analogue.

Thats strange as the old ceefax pages are still on BBC 2NI at 5 am in the morning as a ceefax in view presentation with music so they must still be generating them.

I saw it myself on BBC1 last night on satellite.

    Something along these lines

Its gone from analogue obviously from 2012 and is not being replaced. IPTV etc.

Must be the case that UPC are using a different feed that doesn't carry Ceefax. It's working fine for analogue reception up here.

My understanding is that for analogue reception, Ceefax will carry on until the analogue switch from Divis is flicked to "off".

That is old news, that has been the case with BBC on satellite for years.
It was terrestrial, not satellite that UPC had been using as a source for BBC, and as Lawhec confirms 'traditional teletext' is still on analogue terrestrial in NI.

    BTW
BBC on satellite still has 'Page 888' subtitles via traditional teletext function - is 'P888' still available on BBC on all UPC Cable?
