    Hi All,

New to the Boards and hoping couple of questions regarding the above have not been exhaustively covered elsewhere. I currently have a Technomate 5200D which provides decent pictures with a god-awful EPG. I'm gonna buy a Freesat HD box, probably the Sagem DSI86 HD (approx £90 on Amazon) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sagem-DSI86-Satellite-Digital-Freesat/dp/B002XSKSHM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281439996&sr=8-3 as a filler and will wait for next years new Humax PVR before finalising my home set up.

If I enter an NI postcode will I receive ITVHD or should I enter a central London postcode? Also, is DTT really launching Oct 2010? If so I find it odd that there has been no advertising campaign, though I know switch off is some time away yet. Current 'grey market' Irish DTT boxes seem a little pricey to me and I wonder when Teracom will announce officially endorsed STB's?

No ITV1 HD using Ni Postcode , but you'll get it on a London postcode. Yes "Saorview" the Irish DTT service is launching in October, it's a soft launch meaning it's technically availible to view for those with capable equipment. Your correct about the lack of advertising and officall Saorview boxes but I'm sure there will be more advertising and offical STB coming closer to ASO in 2012. Lots of info here on Saorview - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=56.

Thanks jobyne30, will go with 'mainland' postcode so. With regard to DTT, I've an awful feeling it will be broadcastings answer to the LUAS fiasco, where we'll discover sometime after launch that we should have 'joined the lines'. Thanks for your help.

I thought that ITV London was on channel 977 on all non London freesat boxes.... If you go to channel 977, you can press the red button to get the HD stream.

Its a click more than you would have to make, but if you want to keep UTV and the northern versions of BBC, thats the way to do it.

As outlined by mjsmyth you win/lose on Freesat depending on the postcode you enter. I am in Dublin, and have a Bush Freesat HD receiver, I know it has mixed reviews, but I find it quite good, and the best price through Argos.

I configured the main set up to a N.Irl post code, and added ITV HD as a non-Freesat channel through other setup/tuning screens. That way you get most Irl specific channels and ITV HD is only a couple of clicks away when you want it.
