Is it for a job/ driving licence or do you just want to check your eyesight?

There are usually vouchers for Specsavers in the paper for €15 eye tests

If you have PRSI or a medical card you can get it done for free. The PRSI involves a phone call to Donegal and they will tell you there and then if you are qualified. The Medical card requires pre authorisation which can take several weeks. The m/c forms are available from practically all opticians. The number for your PRSI is 1890 400 400 ext 44480 be prepared to wait it can take a while to get through.

Supersaver's on Talbot street always have really cheap eye tests. My last one only cost 15 quid.
