Ive started to use 40 grain bullets in my .22lr with a velocity of over 1200fps. I was using 32grain stingers with a velocity of 1640fps. My question is lads which bullet do ye think has a longer kill range for foxes. I'd appreciate it if ye dont start talking about .223s.;)

The use of a 22lr on a fox is 50 yards if your going to push out further go for a magnum or a hornet. I have a hornet for fox and a 22lr and havent looked back. I shot hundreds of fox with the magnum, but only 3 with a 22lr, and that was an opportune shot when after rabbits.

The thing to remember with the 32gr is they will get pushed twice as far with the wind as a 40gr will, even if 32gr are going faster.

Anyway the answer to your question is get them in as close as you can. :D

CCI Velociter come in 40gr @ an advertised 1435fps.........were a lot more accurate in my gun than the stingers......not promoting them for foxes mind.

As Goosie said I find Velocitors brilliant almost as good as Stingers ;)

I find .22lr with a good shooter and either of the above types of ammo well capable out to 70-80 yards ;)
