    A friend of mine was recently on sctv for hes anolouge,now that its gone hes looking to put up an aerial to get the Irish stations,what type of aerial would be best for hes location also which transmitter should he be getting the signal off and is dtt available in carrigaline?Many thanks

    If he had Sctv analogue, he surely also had an aerial for RTE.
    Should be pointed towards Crosshaven and should be vertically polarised. Group CD or wideband. Some parts of southern Carrigaline can not get a good reception from Xhaven TX and are on Mullaganish. ( VHF, vertical for rte1 and 2 and group A horizontal for TV3 and Tg4).
    DTT available from both transmitters. Ch 21 Mullaganish, ch 34 Crosshaven. For Dtt from Crosshaven a wideband aerial should be used for analogue reception ( ch 55, 59 and 65 ) as well as DTT on 34.

    ill have to ask him if he has an aerial alreay up,cheers for the response Rippy,is it possible to pick up all 4 stations on dtt from the 1 aerial or will he need 2 depending on reception is it?

    Yes , he will receive all DTT channels from one aerial, either Crosshaven or Mullaganish. Until November TV3 is not available on DTT. Analogue TV3 not on Crosshaven, only Mullaganish.

    ok cheers for the reply,just in case he doesnt have an aerial any pacticular brand/typr you recommend?and anywhere is cork that have them?
