Get better iTunes support on Netbook.

When playing SD videos on iTunes with my NC10 it will constantly stutter and makes it very annoying to watch. I was looking into getting a new Netbook with an Ion GPU but I am quite happy with my NC10. Is there anything you could suggest that may give me better iTunes playback and support, like would upgrading the Ram help (I currently have 1GB).

Also, before somebody suggests different software, they are Apple DRM'd videos so have to be played in iTunes. VLC works great on the Netbook but wont play DRM'd content.

Have you tried setting them to "play in a separate window" and closing the main Itunes window?

Have you got the video properties of the file? Format/Res/Bitrate?

I tried closing iTunes while playing the video in a separate window but the windows ends up closing to. Any way around this?

They are all in H.264 and are 128Kbps. Some are 853x480 and others are 640x360.

When I said bitrate I meant video not audio:)

Its weird that an NC10 cant handle them. I'm guessing no SSD no? It could be a hard drive thing, how often does it stutter?

No SSD. It mostly stutter when there is alot of movement in the video. When I have a video playing in iTunes, up to 97% of the CPU will be in use going by Task Manager.

I'm stumped bar iTunes being the bloated load of sh1te that it is. You've paid for the content, you're entitled to play it back on your own bloody netbook. Break the DRM I say, hassle as that may be.

EDIT: Using any AV software? If it was scanning the decompression proc. that would slow everything up.

Ha was considering just re-downloading non-DRM version of the videos. I may do that but I'll see.

Yeah I put it down to iTunes just being too bloated for my Lil Netbook but I thought there may be some tweaks I could use to improve things.. No Im not using any AV Software either. I appreciate the help man.

Yes but it doesn't seem to help. Do you have any links to the codecs. I did a quick Google but couldn't find anything?

Look up the CCCP(Combined Community Codec Pack). It has 1001 features and may just allow WMP to play the files.

Hmmm downloaded that but didn't work with the standard settings. Tried to change a few bits but it is soo in depth and complicated it is hard to know what to change.
