AH rule #3 - don't post multiple choice polls. The temptation to click them all is overwhelming.

I've had SKY for over ten years now and let me be the one to tell you, it's a complete waste of money. Their pricing structure leaves a lot to be desired too. For example, you can buy all the channels (SKY WORLD) which has has several packages....now, say the music package doesn't interest you and you get rid of it...SKY only take off 2.50euro/month.

I got rid of everything except the SPORTS package but SKY SPORTS NEWS is actually in another package so I had to buy that one too! It's all a load of old cock and balls as far as I'm concerned. I got rid of it all together and now I watch football on the internet via a live stream and movies on the net too.

Literally, there is nothing SKY offers to warrant that kind of money.

I have most things on the list bar the sport.
Thinking of getting rid of Sky to be honest.
Its not a case of money issues, just its all crap, a lot of it cheap reality rubbish or too many soaps.
Sky are robbing sods anyway when it comes to charging.

    Agreed.

Why wait 6/7 months to see Inception on SKY BOX OFFICE....and get charged God knows how much for the luxury when you can watch it online right now? All the Premier League games are online too via stream...

Music package = All brainwashing mainstream ****e some global corporation is having pushed down our throats.
Entertainment = Too many soaps and reality crap. American bull**** at it's best.
Documentaries = Some good but majority worthless and mind-numbingly uninteresting.
    Kids = RAGGGGGGGGGGGE!

    FU SKY!

OP, the money you're giving SKY would be better spent on a faster internet connection. Sit back and enjoy. :)

I can already download at over 225kb per second. I don't need or want a faster internet connection.

Its all about the sport, and rubbish tv when there's nothing else on.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,088 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

I'd love (even though it will NEVER happen) a "Premiership/Champions League" package that only lets you watch the football regardless of what channel it's on.

Yes I know you can just subscribe to Sky Sports 1 but then the feckers have the Champions League on Sports 2 so you have to pay for that as well.

If I could get that then it and the basic Entertainment pack would be enough for me.

None. I had Sky for about a year & rarely watched it, so I cancelled it, pulled out the Sky card & now get all the freeview channels through the box & satellite.

Which I never watch either, but at least it's free.

With so many places to download stuff for nothing, I dunno why anyone would pay for TV packages.

    Everything except movies and sports.

Gonna nag for sports tho ;)

Its not in my name so hence the 'nag' part.

We are not really spoilt for choice in Ireland, either NTL or Sky.

Have Sky, have all the packages bar Movies, It works out at just over 2 euro per day, so not too bad when you look at that way.

Like the radio channels on the sky digital platform also.

    Mainly watch

    SKY 1,2,3,
    Watch
    Gold
    Dave
    Alibi
    Good Food
    Sky Real Lives
    Bravo for the X files
    BBC 1 and 2
    BBC News
    Sky News
    Sky Sports
    National Geographic
    Blighty
    ITV 3
    ITV 4
    4 Music for Trigger Happy
    Radio Stations:

    LBC 97.3
    Yorkshire Radio
    Magic 105.4

I have the Sky world package with HD + ESPN and its costing me 100e a month. It is expensive but I mainly got it for the Sports. Their is a lot of sh1t on it alright and I mainly watch the same channels - sports, bbc, rte, c4 and a few movies. Its costly but I just hate watching sports/movies on my laptop as there is no comparison on quality.

I dunno what you call it, is Sky World the one with all that crap on it? its HD + multi-room whatever. All that shoite isnt for me anyway, I can't remember the last time I switched on the tellybox. If I want to watch something, I watch it on my laptop.

They don't really. IPTV isn't all that great

Haven't owned a TV in years. But growing up it was go-to-bed-early 1 and go-to-bed-early 2 aka the bogger channels and no more, didn't do me a bit of harm. None of this fancy sky malarky :pac: Internet is all I need/want.

I shamelessly download what I want to watch and masquerade as a concerned citizen when threads about the damage it causes to the industry surface.. I'd love to fix how it all works but it's so free.. and so there, right in front of me.
