Does anyone know if you have a tv with built in Freeview (i.e. one of the ones from Tesco or PC World) if you'd be able to pick up the UK Freeview DTT overspill from the North.

I'm based in Drogheda Co Louth and have a decent enough terrestrial aerial (Have Sky as well but refuse to pay for multiroom and want BBC4 in the kitchen!)

Freeview for now will only come from Divis. Do you get your Terestrial UK from Divis or Kilkeel ? Divis analog channels are 21, 24, 27 & 31 whereas Kilkeel are in the 40's. If you're using Divis, you might have a slim chance since the Freeview power is turned down until switchover. Would also recommend you get a FreeviewHD set if you don't have any form of Freeview one now. This way, it will definitely (Should) work for the Irish DTT too

Use your existing sky minidish to get BBC4 in the Kitchen, Put a quad LNB on the end of the dish arm (If you have Sky plus theres one there already) run a cable from your dish down to your TV and get a FTA satellite receiver or an old Sky box, some of your friends or family might have one lying around. You'll get all the FTA channels on this then.
Search the Satellite forum for more info on this

I'd second this. UK DTT will possibly be drowned out when the Drogheda Saorview TX becomes live, it's on the same frequencies! Mount Leinster all over again.

I'm not sure how helpful it'll be to you as it's quite a bit closer to the border but I got set my parents in Knockbridge a Freeview STB and they are receiving all but one Mux from Divis (channel 48 is the one they're not getting). You can also receive the BBC DAB Mux in Knockbridge.
