someone's got some cash! the 5970 is total overkill. It's a card for total enthusiasts. For a build like yours I'd recommend a 5870 tops. Would balance the PC nicely imo

well the thing is i can get it for €550 and most 5870's cost between 400-450 so an extra 100 or so doesnt really bother me too much, also i could be one of those super nerd pc loving fellas could i not :D ive got about 500-600 euro to spend on a gpu setup for maxing games (never had a proper pc that could do that so really want one) so i figure the 5970 is the best at the moment

You could run like 150 porn clips at the same time without breaking a sweat.... well your video card... without... sweat. What?

Seriously though I have the 5770 and it really doesnt stop for much of anything. At worst you have to come back down off your x16 Antisotropic Filtering High Horse for a couple titles but other than that its pure mint.

the thing is i want to get a card that will last me for 3ish years before i have to upgrade it so im trying to buy the best i can right now, pity the hd 6 series arnt out yet, damn it i hate these decisions :( i think im just going to go with the 5970 as i doubt gaming performance will be bad on it for a long time especially if i overclock it

That card will probably outlast PCI-Express 2.1 but by all means!
