I have an interview with a recruitment agency tomorrow but i have a problem. I sent my cv to them on a job website BUT i didn't read the ad properly :o And the area that they are recruiting for isnt where i would like to work.

As far as i know they do have work in the area that I want to work in. So Is it better for me to just cancel the interview or to explain my mistake and state preference for other type of work? Is that really rude and major no no??? Dont want to lose the opportunity of working with them on something else!!

Ring them up and explain the situation. Say that you'd be happy to still call into them to talk about any opportunities in the area you do want to work, but be quite clear that you're not interested in the original vacancy.
