    Hi,

I'm thinking about getting a time capsule and am wondering if anyone in here has direct experience, I've googled and searched in here and am unclear.

    My question is:

Do I have to connect a time capsule to my broadband modem using ethernet, OR, can I connect the TC to my broadband modem wirelessly?

The reason I ask is that I would like to have the time capsule in a geographically different place in my house rather than downstairs beside the modem. Is this possible?

    Thanks.

    H

Why do you want it in a different place? You can just put it under your modem. Unless you're planning on using it as a print hub?

You can use the Time Capsule to extend an existing wireless network, however doing so disables the network ports on the back.

I want to use it as a print hub, thus the need to have it somewhere else than the modem.

Not sure I understand you Talisman, is that all the ports including USB?

It's the network points (ethernet connections) on the back which are disabled. I didn't test the USB connection but I would assume it's not affected, there's no reason it should be.
