Myself and two friends got into an argument about our beliefs in ghosts and what started into a bit of slagging turned into a dare! This Tuesday night the 3 of us are going into a supposedly haunted castle/graveyard with a camera and a torch each. Can anyone tell me what else would be handy to bring along, an also what to look out for?

Bring and audio recorder (even voice record on your phone) so you can make notes as the night goes. If you rely on memory things will get exaggerated!

Not that I know a whole lot about this kind of caper..but a grave yard might not be the best place to start..old ruins (decent shell of a house or building) find out the history of the spot to a degree, and work from there maybe..a graveyard bit like a busy tube station, you dunno who could be in the crowd.

i have never understood how graveyards or old ruins are necessarily ever haunted. especially graveyards - people are dead for a few days before they end up in there.

Very old hospitals would be worth looking into for possible paranormal activity - preferably those of the disused variety.

you should definatly bring a dictaphone(voice recorder) if you dont have one you can use your mobile phones voice recorder which would'nt be very good but better then nothing at all, torch, camera and a drink. while your there put the voice recorder where the wind won't interfere with it and have a quiet moment where you ask questions like" if any1 is here please make a noise or say something, the equiptment i have will record wat u say" things like that, you wont hear anything at the time your recording but you might when u play it back later, Also its important that your friends stay quiet while you do this and it's very important that you tell them if they have to talk to talk loud and clear or else if they whisper u won't know whether it was one of your friends or an EVP (electronic voice phonemia) hope this helps

I have investigated many Grave yards and have to say that i have never come across any thing paranormal in them. I dont think a spirit would want to hang around in one. i would think that when a person dies if they do want to remain here they would much rather be close to thier loved ones or maybe a house or building that meant a lot to them while they were alive, not a cold dark grave yard.

    Just a thought....

Oh and a pen and paper is a must on any investigation as a lot of battery operated stuff can be drained for no reason. So its always good to have a pen and paper handy for taking notes.
