    Hi,

I have been farming the home farm for a few years it is in reps etc in my parents ownership but they are retired. I have just bought a few more acres. I have a few questions ye may be able to help me with.

Would it be a good idea to get a new herd numbers in my name? And if I did could I merge them again at a later date.

If I get a new herd number could I apply to get the new land in AEOS if relaunced?

There are no entitlements with new land. Would it be a good idea to buy some?

I am a paye worker would it be possible to write somecosts against paye income?

How much does reseeding cost per acre?

What are the best seeds to sow?

    Thanks for advise.

Personally, I can't see the point in getting an additional herd number, rather than transferring the existing one.

You should be eligible for any new schemes, provided you satisfy any other relevant conditions for participation

Depends on the deal you do

Yes, capital costs can be offset against your PAYE income and operating losses are also allowed for a limited number of years. Get a good farm accountant on boards to advise you here
