Kitchen Hob in corner- Splashback/stainless steel ???

Kitchen will have hob in corner in new house. We not sure what to do, build fake wall for cooker hood and then tile / stainles steel /colour glass splashback it. Having a walnut kitchen with creamish worktop. I would like to keep kitchen modern by not tiling. Has anyone ideas or previous experience of behind corner hobs and along worktop ideas for splashback . What kind of costs for coloured glass etc ?

Hi Sandy76,

If you want to keep it modern then I think you should go for a glass splashback. You will need to build a false wall behind at an angle anyway and then using maybe a light blue glass splashback you will get a really lovely look. There is great value out there at the moment so you could look at having glass fitted the whole way around the kitchen or even do a 4 inch upstand with a higher splashback behind the hob.

Thanks so much. That sounds great. Would it be best sourcing this from kitchen suppliers or from actual glass companies ? Is it easy fitted or would it need a specialist fitter ?

Definitely talk to your kitchen supplier as they may have a glass supplier they use which would mean they will organise the supply and fitting of it for you. I would recommend using a professional fitter. You won't save much money by fitting it yourself.
