Storage heaters Vs. electric

    Hello,

Myself and a friend are moving into a spacious, old, 2nd floor apartment. It is double glazed). It is fitted with storage heaters.

We will both be out all day until the evening time. Some people say that by turning down the output the place will be warm come the evening, however others seem to say that it will be cold as all the heat will have been let out during the day.

I was wondering, would it be cheaper, given heat would only be required for 3/4 hours in the evening, to use thermostat controlled electric bar heaters (in 2 rooms perhaps) for these few hours, as opposed to the storage heating (which is on a night rate)

    Many thanks,

    Aaron

The key to this question lies in both the quality of the current heaters and what real degree of control they give, coulpled with how airtight the
spacious, old, 2nd floor apartment. It is double glazed
is and how much glass you have and the build quality.

My advice would be set the storage heaters down to their lowest and keep the apt 'aired' and supplement as required with some extra heaters. The extra wooly jumper works well too:)
