Jailbroken 3G hanging

    Hi all,

Recently handed down a jailbroken 3G on ios 3.1.3 to my sister who is on the 3 network. She says it is hanging a lot and she's missing calls because it crashes. I was thinking of restoring it and rejailbreaking it, but is it possible to restore 3.1.3 on it and not bring her up to 4, which is probably too slow on a 3G? I know you can't roll back, but can you restore your current ios?

    Thanks!

.... You mean in Cydia? Ive done the backup thing alright, but I've never had to restore from it. Does it definitely work? How do you even kick it off?

Well. That didn't go so well :( I tried to restore, didn't work. Decided to put it into recovery mode and try again, but the computer didn't pick it up, so I turned it off, and now it won't turn on again. Not a bit of life out of it. Like the power button is broken, which I suspect, since she tells me now that every time she pressed the home key, it took a screen shot earlier, so sounds like it was sticking.

It's under warranty, but it's also jailbroken - am I screwed here?? will they honour the warranty on a jailbroken handset?
