that has to be fake because you cant take plex out of stations.

They changed that a few weeks ago.

Yeah, seem to have. Didn't even realise it was a restriction tbh.

    From: http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&bid=776
    What does that mean specifically
    • We will remove the restriction on undocking from a station with a PLEX in your cargo hold
    • We will remove the restriction that PLEX cannot be put into courier contracts
    • We will remove the restriction that items (including PLEX) can only be redeemed into NPC stations
    • We will remove the restriction that items (including PLEX) can only be reverse-redeemed from NPC stations
    • We will remove the restriction that ETC can only be converted into PLEX while inside an NPC station

If you blow up a ship that happens to be carrying PLEX, it may drop the PLEX as loot or it may be destroyed in the conflagration (much like any other item in a ship's cargo hold). The refund policies for PLEX will not be any different from any other item.

I had a feeling it wouldn't be long before something like this happened after I read that post...

I feel that having PLEX as cargo is a little too dangerous and open to manipulation/harassment as seen here. Really it should be included in your wallet or something.

dam that was a stupid decision to allow transport of plex.

its like a money hole when they get destroyed.
they should atleast make them a non destroyable item so they can be collected in loot.

TBH, whether it's PLEX or anything else in EVE it adds up to money - be it the value of the time mining, producing, looting it or the value of the Real World (TM) cash you paid to purchase it. It's just easier to put a price tag in Euros on PLEX.

EVE has long had the possibility of being a soul destroying game whenever you get ganked in PvP or scammed. It's happened to me and I'll be honest I've canceled my subscription for a few months to recover - but always went back. It's just part of the game.

They shouldn't have transported cargo of that value in one go, IMHO; at least not without traveling with an invasion fleet level escort. Personally, I wouldn't be canceling my subscription after that, I'd be in a church tower with a rifle...

In a fucking Kestrel no less. I wonder if it was from Chinese farmers. Some poor schmuck just got dragged into a Beijing alleyway and shot.

I agree I wouldnt have transported such valuable cargo unless I had a combat patrol group on alert status watching my flanks at battle speed.

Presumably he didnt just buy $1300 of game time and decide to fly around with it anyway, I guess he collected it in a similar way from other people or something?

no he bought it in one go and lost it that same day

Did he buy them with cash or isk?

  • Registered Users Posts: 194 ✭✭Maj Malfunction

I'd say he bought them with cash through GTC's or something like that. Either way that's a ton of ISK to move in a crappy little frigate with a war dec running.

There is a fool born every minute
