Common problem, I have turned on the speaker a few times as well. Apple have said they will release a fix in an upcoming version, hopefully 4.1 might have it but I'm sure they would have said that instead of upcoming version if it was the case.

Thanks- I wasn't sure if the most recent update was supposed to have fixed it particularly as there aren't many complaints on here about it.

I have same problem, on the phone to a mate from Australia for about a half hour the other day, I put him on hold/speaker/mute by accident about 5 times in 30mins.

    Are u guys on 4.0 or 4.0.1?

    I'm still in 4.0

I was on a business call to the uk yesterday and cut the call off three times. My Client was not impressed!
Now that I know this is still an issue I'll be
    more careful.
I haven't managed to trigger the speaker accidentally yet but then I've only had it 2 days;)

Ok this is getting ridiculous. Was just on a call there..next thing I hear the phone ringing..it placed my current call on hold and rang someone else.

In the past you could press the lock button...now the lock button hangs up the call. ffs apple

Anyone else still having this issue? Thought 4.1 was to fix this? Since then i have muted calls with my ear, and also put people on hold and rang other people with my highly skilled left ear.

Since I upgraded to 4.1 I've noticed it happening a lot more - had the phone go to loud speaker, ring people, go into apps. It's a bit frustrating.
