I saw this on an Irish Job. There was an editor position as well, but I'm not pasting it here:

Domain Design Shop – Content Writer Position
Domain Design Shop is a financially stable, growing company that specializes in content creation and web design. We’re an International company with employees in the US, Israel, Serbia, Ukraine, and the Philippines. We always have over 250,000 articles that need to be written.
To be a writer with Domain Design Shop, you’ll have to have a reliable Internet connection and computer. When you have technical issues, you’ll need to go to an Internet café or some other location with a reliable connection.
As a writer with Domain Design Shop, you’ll be required to write a minimum of 6 articles a day, 5 days a week. We will supply you with the titles in the morning, and you’ll send them back to your editor (team leader) by the end of the day. You are responsible for editing and proofreading your own articles. They should be submitted without any mistakes.
All of the articles are “How-To” articles that follow our AP Guidelines, which you will learn about during your training.
The writing positions with our company are long-term, full time positions for reliable writers. This is not a short-term or temporary position.
Please send any questions to Jason@DomainDesignShop.com or contact us on Skype: arap613

    Good luck to everyone.

    Sounds absolutely horrible:

1)Nowhere are you told even the most basic subjects of what you are writing about.

    2) My head is on full scale scam alert. Though I've almost been the victim of a scam twice since finishing college...

Before saying that it sounds horrible, why not ask me for more information? Did you send me a PM? Did you ask for more information in the thread? Did you ask me for references? Did you ask me for my phone number? It's people like you that make me hesitant to outsource to new countries.

If you're not interested in the job, that's fine....but it's not okay to infer that I'm scamming anyone or associated with a scam.

As I previously said, we have writers in other countries, and I'm going out on a limb to try writers in Ireland after I read an article on digg.com yesterday about how 20% of the people in Ireland want to leave.

We write "how-to" articles as you would have known if you simply would have sent me a PM. I also would have sent you sample articles. If you would have read the post, we actually train people. If a person can write well in general, then we can train them to write in the style that we need.

We NEVER ask anyone for any money EVER. This is a traditional job, but it's a work at home job to save on office costs.

I won't talk about the pay via a public forum as my other writers and editors can easily find this information.

I also contacted boards.ie about their advertising rates 15 hours before I even posted here because we are a real company.

If you would like to apply for this position, please send your resume and a writing sample to jason@domaindesignshop.com. You can also see our web deisgn website here:

    Hi
I am interested. I assume I will be an employee of your company. Are you based in Ireland? Will I be a PAYE worker?

Please email me for more details of the job.

    Thanks!

Why aren't you providing this information? And importantly, what are the pay and conditions like? While you're not a scam, you should provide this info. It is also curious that there is no reference to article writing on your site despite requiring 250,000! Anyway sounds like it's all for search engine keyword spamming via articles which Google and others will be dealing with soon enough.

Sorry Irish folks. Everyone wants to slam my company while no one has even sent me a PM for more information.

Good luck in your job searches! I'll keep my business in the countries where it currently exists.

    Everyone's just highlighting the obvious.

Had I seen your ad on a reputable job site such as IrishJobs.ie etc I'd still think it was suspect because you provide no information! And when I go to your website I don't see a whole lot that would coincide with the kind of position you're advertising.

Why don't you link to some of your articles?

I'll be happy with minimum wage (€8.65 an hour) for a 37.5 hour week.

What an extraordinary way to introduce a job that you later claim to be offering! And the aggresive attitude you take with the replies doesn't recommend me to the position.

http://www.domaindesignshop.com/about_us.html have a quick look at the website, which is amateurish to say the least, and prepare to smell fishiness.

They claim hundreds of clients but don't give a single example. They cover everything "In addition to website creation, marketing, and branding, we also specialize in the development of desktop software, databases, custom applications, scripts, and graphics." , when generalisation is marketed as 'specialisation' it sets off alarm bells in my head.

Also worth noting for those of you concerned with human rights, they have an office in Israel so you may wish to boycott them as part of the international BDS movement

Huh? Only one person (two now) has suggested there might be something amiss so why are you so defensive?

You're not helping yourself by behaving like this and I repeat the question: why are you not providing proper employment information but instead limiting it to PMs? This unwillingness to provide information on pay and conditions does nothing to help trust.

"When you have technical issues, you’ll need to go to an Internet café or some other location with a reliable connection" - somehow it ain't selling itself...

I did not read that first post as the person writing the post was the one offering a position, it comes across as someone who is just throwing out a link as being of general interest.

But since it was your ad, OP, you should be aware that it reads like a scam. If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck....

Screams dodgy to me. But I'm not saying how so he can keep blundering :)

    I infer, you imply.
Glad to see you realise you need a writer.

This sounds like quite an unprofessional thing to say.
Makes me wonder why you would not want your current employees to know what pay you're offering potential employees.

You saw it on Irish job?

    Isnt it your Ad?

Why wouldnt you just post it directly instead of seeing it somewhere else?

Very interesting way to introduce a job that you are offering by saying you found it on a job site.

Why were you not straight with people and say it was you actually offering it?

Then you throw your toys out of the pram because people rightly question its validity when you presented it in a underhand fashion?
