i reckon any of them in the year range and budget will mostly be high mileage...I'm open to correction but the engines will usually be 1.8, 2.0 petrol and 1.9 TDI (100BHP) 1.9TDI (130BHP) and 2.5TDI quattro..

I dont know much about the models but the sport model seems to come with better interior and steering wheel. the SE model from the UK has AC aswell..(again I'm open to correction here)....I've even seen one with a small drinks cooler in the Glovebox!

Here's a few examples: (if you are going diesel then try to get the 130BHP)

    1.9TDI Sport 130

2.5TDI Quattro (probably not incl VRT)

    http://cars.rte.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201028198807999
    90k miles...i think its the 100BHP

price includes VRT high miles tho

Not unless you plan on lying to your insurance company, which will give them grounds to void your insurance if you have an accident.

I would take the 130 bhp passat over the A4 any day.

Much more room, you should be able to pick an 04 for that sort of money.

Look for a Sport or a highline.

Had a sport with a 130 and 6 speed loved that car.

again insurance is the problem have to ring quinn and see .

i have found a extreamly well minded and well serviced 2004 100bhp comfortline with 133,000 miles, alloys climatronic ,oak effect dash, chrome pack, urban grey metalic but dealer is looking €6950 i was told 6000k is value of it and its still dear .

i have also looked at a 2004 100bhp passat non comfortline with 104,000 miles in average condt no alloys .for €5750 and it was an awfull green
