I quite liked it, but then again I tend to like Marshall's films.


It is a bit like Dog Soldiers crossed with Doomsday in places, except it has Romans in it:D

I thought it better than Doomsday, Killing Time and the Descent2, in terms of Marshall's films, but it is behind Dog Soldiers and The Descent.


It comes out on Blu Ray/DVD to rent next Friday.

Just watched it there last night and have to say I was very much impressed.

Ok I wouldn't be able to note any 'historical discrepancies'. But it very much was what it says on the tin. A nice mix of action, gore, romance and suspense.

I watched it a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It's a good old fashioned romp which makes use of the simpleist of concepts and just goes with it. Defiently one which I'll watch again and considering the cost of the Blu Ray I'll have to.

Watched it last week, thought it was a faorly decent movie. I'm a big fan of Michael Fassbender which helped. Overall a very enjoyable movie, if you're into the whole Roman/gladiator/OTT gore stuff

saw it in the cinema months ago and loved it.
its a good old fashion chase film, as others have said, with a good enough cast (Michael Fassbender and Liam Cunningham) and its got some really good action in it.
Not spectacular, but enjoyable none the less.

It's a really enjoyable historic action film. I loved it. It's what this year's Robin Hood should have been like.

Just watch it last night, very enjoyable movie....not the best story but it had some good action and kind of a LOTR feel to it, the setting and the helicopter shots etc.

I recomend it.

I agree I thought the ending was left a bit open. but still enjoyed the action.

Saw it at the weekend: thought it was a film of two halves. First half was great - loads of over the top action with plenty of decapitations and cool deaths. But once the initial pace slowed, the lack of story really let this film down. Maybe the budget ran out and they couldn't finish it off with more big battles, which was where this film really shone for me. Some good laddish dialogue between soldiers at the beginning also didn't carry through the whole film. Overall, worth a watch but don't have high hopes going in.
