I'm dabbling with a little amateur photography and really enjoying it at the moment. I'm wondering what the best online software for editing pictures is?

Any recommendations - ideally i'm looking for something free to trial so i can get a feel for it and figure out what i'm doing before i spend some money...

How heavy do you want your editing to be? and.. why are you looking for "online" instead of something free that you can install on your own computer?

I think Paint Shop Pro is still free software. GIMP is definitely free, and then there are less sophisticated tools like Picasa.

I've found for my purposes, the best 'space' between, say, Picassa and Photoshop is Photoscape. It's free, and it's loaded. It's not online, but without a good system and a fast connection, doing things online is a pain.

The only drawback is that there's limited instructional stuff for it.

I suppose i'm not absolutely looking for an online application and a downloadable programme will do the trick.

I'll take a look at those recommended and see if they do the trick.

    Thanks for the recommendations...

Lightroom has a 30 day trial so you can see how it goes for you, and isn't hideously overpriced if you like it (200 quid ish)
