Sometimes it can be a simple problem like the head needs to be cleaned out. Soak it in clear vinager(not malt) and water 50% overnight.

Joey spot on, when finished in shower, turn to cold for a couple of seconds, helps prolong the heating element in the shower unit

Its fixable but is it worth fixing... If its a triton t90 which you dont say then yes it could be the pump and this costs about 150 for supply and fit...

Considering a new one is 249 then meh...maybe its not worth fixing...

My shower has been acting up for a while, and I thought I had it sorted when I sorted out the air-lock. However, It's dangerous now. This morning I even turned it down to cold, to no avail, still scalding. I'm so afraid of it now, that I'm replacing it. Any suggestions as to what will fit on the space, without having to replace tiles etc? I'm not keen on another Triton. This one is only 4 years old.

Is it sitting into a void in the tiles, or is it over the tiles?

A Mira Elite ST is a good shower, as a tank fed one. It'll sit over the tiles. Won't cover the existing screw holes fully though. Joey the Lips would be the best man to tell you the best shower to get though.

Just seen this thread. My mum's shower was experiencing the same problems last year so I cleaned our the filter inside the shower.Worked a treat and saved her €300 spuds. I wonder have you done this?? This filter is under the cover of the shower unit so cover will have to be removed. Easy little job to do.

Thanks for the reply. Yes the filter has been checked, no problem there. But there is a lot of black dust on the inside of the cover. I'm resigned to replacing the entire thing, as I'm afraid for our safety, so I shall go with whatever Joe the Lips recommends.

Black dust... Is new motor brushes... Not a difficult job. Unscrew the motor bring it to an electrical provider and he will fit the brushes.

Then just pop it back it...

This is not a difficult job but requies a bit of confidence...

However if your confident enough to open it your half way there
