Waiting time for test

    Hi there.

I applied to sit my driving test at a center where the wait is supposedly 9 weeks. I applied at the very start of June and still haven't heard anything back: I signed up for e-mail updates.

Does the 9 week wait refer to how long before you're given the 4/5 week notice that a test has been scheduled for you or does it refer to the wait for the day of the actual test?

Either way, it's taking a while! If I'm informed next week that it's 4 weeks to my test it'll be 13/14 weeks I'll have waited. Thanks in advance for answers.

Afaik the waiting time refers to how long it will be until the day you sit your test. I applied just over a month ago and got my test date for 4 weeks time, in a 9 week waiting time centre aswel. Give them a ring and make sure they got the application and you didn't miss an email.

When I applied, (the end of may) I was given the date about 3-4 weeks before the actual test so I was waiting about 5 weeks, then got the date 4 weeks before test, so mine was a 9 weeks.

the waiting time was 9 weeks as well so I guess it depends.

If you ring them up, and ask for a cancellation they will either put you on the list for one, or if theres any available you could go ahead a book it there and then

It depends on the test centre. Sometimes the waiting time quoted on the website is a little out. I applied in April for my test and the website said there was an 8 week waiting list, and 8 weeks to the day I sat my test (and failed! :().

I reapplied at the end of May and the waiting list was stated as approx. 10 weeks, and there will have been 13 weeks between applying and taking the test later this month, so it really just depends on demand in any particular centre.
