Can anyone offer up an insight into what it's like? Is it worth a trip? Good points, bad points etc?

worth a trip if yo live within 5 mins, not great, some very hilly walks to tee boxes, course itself goes across the hill so most holes play of with just 1 really uphill,it's quite short also off the whites,in good nic atm

Agree with above, personally can't stand the place. You need to be a mountain goat for half of it and the breaks on some greens defy gravity. We played junior cup there a few years back and nobody liked the course too much.

Looks decent from the website. Opening stretch appears tough enough though with lots of low indices early doors.

Didn't find it particularly difficult and couldn't criticize the condition of the place just simply never enjoyed playing it.

    I'm sure some would disagree.

I think I'd be in this camp. Nothing really bad about it but personally it wouldn't be my cup of tea. The back nine is a lot better than the front if that helps and most of the really hilly walking is between greens and tees.

all greens break towards the church. ignore what u see infront of you, if it looks like it breaks right and the church is on the left it breaks left.

The view off the 11th is epic and the signature hole. hope you get a good day. Enjoy.

Not the worst of ttracks out there, and tough at times, some long holes to test ya.

Virtually all the fairways slope a lot from left to right or vice versa. There are no flat lies at all. I'm rubbish at playing off sloping lies so I hate it but other than that it's nice enough with some nice views.

I would disagree here... and I'd know... I've played it about 200 times !!

If you get a windy day, it can be a tough course, even off the whites..
Alot of people have said it's very hilly....I think it's only hilly from green to tee, and there's about 4 or 5 holes where you do feel it.
In terms of there's no flat lies ... well...I suppose that's where you hit it too !!
Green are very very fast but they are very true.

You start off on an Index 1, tough hole and if the wind is against you, you have a long second iron for your approach. On the tee shot, aim towards the big tree on the left..
    2nd...Par 3...anything between a 5 and 8 iron, three tiers on the green...tough green.
3rd...one of my favourites...a nice draw starting towards the right bunker....tight enough drive....that'll leave you around 150 odd yards into the green.
    4th...Nice elevated par 3
5th...Reachable Par 5.... if you carry the bunker on the right you're left with a 6 iron into the green
    6th .. don't like this hole.....nuff said !!
7th...Nice par 4....right to left and short enough second shot in
8th .. OOB on the right so keep it straight..
    9th...par 3...probably round an 8 iron
10th... Just drive it straight and it's a flick onto the green
11th...beautiful hole...depending on the wind you could reach it... bunkers left and right..
12th....You can cut the corner here and the ball goes onto the fairway
13th...no. 1 favourite hole on the course....tough green though....again.. it's probably a 7 to 9 iron depending where the pin is
14th....you can take a driver and go over the trees... I wouldn't recommend it.... I'd go for a 4 or 5 iron straight down.... and then a 6 iron to the green...It's right angled dog right..
    15th...easy par 5
16th....par 3...quite easy...just club selection is the hard part to get right here on a windy day
17th...tough hole...a long drive required...fading if possible..will leave you a mid iron in to an elevated green
18th....straight drive ... 8 iron through the gap... and then a pitching wedge is how I'd approach it..

    hope that helps

If possible get yourself a buggy as some of the walks from green to tee are energy sapping! As was said not everyone's cup of tea but it's in quite decent nick and a couple of nice shots on it

You'll be wanting a Sherpa, some bottled oxygen and possibly a yak.

Dont be above the hole if it cut on or near the front of the 2nd, if the pin is at the back there is a very severe break left to right, more than you think. Almost every putt breaks to the town. On the 14th green it looks uphill from front to back, its an optical illusion, its downhill to the back and obviously the opposite from back to front!! If the pin on the 5th is front right you could actually roll off the front again if the chip or putt does not have enough pace, a horrible pin position!!
