Ok - from distant memory, what I recall you needed to do was the following:
    1. Remove the hand guard (both top and bottom parts. You remove the front body pin to get the bottom of the handguard off and once that's off you can remove the top - exposing the barrel.
    2. Remove the receiver pin nearest the pistol grip - these can be pushed through the body (if it's the King Arms) but you need to be careful that you're pushing from the right side.
    3. Slide the upper receiver forward (the barrel will come with it if I recall correctly) carefully - it should slide out over the inner barrel and come clean away.
    4. Then your hop is exposed.

Declaration: It's been about six months since I've done this - and it was on a clone of the King Arms version that I used to have before I got a KA version - but it should operate the same way. If anything in the above chain doesn't happen easily (i.e. without having to force it) then it might be slightly differnt on the KA version.

    Good luck chief!

my king arms ebb dismantles a little differant than above.
remove hand guards as said above and turn aeg upside down.where the barrel meets the body there is 2 allen key bolts and if i remove these the whole upper reciever, barrel and inner barrel push forward and come away from the body.
then you can pull out the hop unit.
if its like mine its a little figety to pull out the unit.i find if i pull it back a little bit while pulling the bolt cover back and then twist it to the side a bit,let the bolt back, then it should come out easy enough
    hope this helps

I'd go with glicster dude - as I said I was working on a clone, not a KA.

Thanks lads. Ditn't actually need to take off the reciever for what I needed. Took the outer barrel off from the inner one (took out the 4 screws holding it) then I was able to sort out the hop up problem with that done.

Thanks for all the help, but, one other thing, Any chance anybody knows where I can get my hands on 556 Mid caps?

When you say 556 mids do you mean the sigarms mid caps that come with the king arms or just m4 mids in general?

    The sig arms ones.

Didn't know the 556 took M4 mags, but still prefer the look of the sigamrs mags

The sigarms mags are a little tough to find - ehobbyasia have them but they're expensive buggers:

Be careful about stanag M4 mags - some won't fit - some will.

Hum, wont be getting them any time soon, but at least I know where they are.

    Much appreciated

    No bother.
I've found that the best mags to fit it are the mag brand plastic mags - these fit best as the mag well in most KAs is a bit tight and any excess flashing or join in metal mid caps can cause them to jam in the magwell. Plus the ones with the HK trades look cool with magpuls on them...
