is it a .com or .ie?

If its a dot com then you could build one yourself easily using weebly.

If its a dot ie check what website builder tools are available from where you purchased the domain.

Nowadays you can get goo looking brochure sites make up for reasonable money.

If you don't feel comfortable in trying to do one yourself (or simply want a more professional looking site to give the right first impression) you can simply contact a web designer to take things forward from here.

Many have packages tailored to SME's (e.g. template sites rather than bespoke designs) who want fairly simplistic sites that will include everything you need for a relatively cheap price, starting at ~€400, but the price will be totally dependant on what you want done. Be sure to check the portfolio of whoever you might choose to go with to see the standard of their work and that you like the look of their designs.

Unless you have a LOT of spare time, the few hundred euro you'd spend on the site would be more cost effective than the time you'd put into trying to figure it out yourself... and potentially you'd never achieve the same result as a professional regardless of the time you invest.

Eh no. The domain name extension has no bearing on the technologies used on a website.

OP even a simple brochure site isn't near as simple as it seems. It's not so much about looking good but doing good business. I advise you to head over to the Design Forum and put up a spec there "I need someone to..." - The Work Wanted Superthread (Read first post before posting). Then your problem is to choose a designer with real knowledge and experience at a decent value price and filter out the many cowboys, time-wasters and bottom-feeders.

the reason i mentioned that is that weebly doesnt support dot ie's.

+1. There's normally a difference between the best value for money price and the lowest price with any service/product, very true in web design. Do your best to differentiate between the two.

Weebly does support .ie's but doesn't support the registration of .ie's

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the help so far.

The domain is registered to me now.

It is a dot com domain.

Should I try Weeby or hire someone to do it?

    Thanks,
    David

In light of the questions you have so far asked, I would strongly advise you to get someone who can at the very least guide you through the project, preferably do the lot for you.

It's a personal decision. But if you don't have any knowledge on how to do it, the results you achieve and the time it would take you to produce them would make hiring someone to do it the obvious choice.

If you hire the right person, the results will be FAR superior, will lead to generating higher income and in the end should pay for the cost of the design in a short time. It will also save you untold hours of stress and frustration trying to get it right yourself (even if you go for the most basic of sites, with a standard template and little customization... you'd still need to invest a lot of time into understanding the SEO implications of how your site is presented) and allow you to focus on your area of expertise, while someone else applies their expertise to your site.

    hello there.
if you want to learn how to set up a blog with decent seo go to http://supersimpleblogging.com/ . Its a course that will take you step by step on how to put up your site (that's not an affiliate link its just a good little video course, it dose'nt cost anything but he'll try to sell something to you down the line). Its for internet marketers but includes everything you need and will teach you a little about seo and how to set up a site with wordpress

If your not interested in learning (cause it will take time to learn and may be better off doing something else) this then you would be better off getting someone to this for you a small site with a couple of pages wont or should'nt cost much
