Its a 3.5" drive (ie bulkier, needs to be powered by its own PSU). Someone links to one every single time a portable 2.5" drive is posted in BA.

You can get them but a lot of them require the use of two USB ports to power them.

    Will this work on XP?

There's no such thing as a drive being locked to FAT32. Just copy the movie off, reformat to NTFS and put the movie back on.

I've just read through the Amazon reviews, you cannot reformat this drive from Fat32 to NTFS under Vista/W7 (and I've tried also to no avail), looks like it can be done under XP according to review feedback

Anyone know if this is 2.5 inch and what the disk speed is. I might consider this as an upgrade to my laptop hard disk.

I picked up one of these and they are very neat, smaller than a 120gb WD hard drive i already have. Other posters are correct about problems with formatting this thing and it drove me mad, tried in in XP and WIN7 and no joy but there is a small samsung programme u can download which works great (the link is on the amazon page comments).

I don't see any reference in the Amazon comments to the small samsung program you mention?

    Can you link?
