NTL Remote Replacement (chewed by dog)

Yes, seriously! My dog chewed up my NTL remote. When contacting them I was told that it'll cost €25 for a new remote, which just seems madly expensive. Am looking at any other options, would anyone be able to advise me on whether a universal remote would work with the NTL box? Have it just over a year.

Bit clueless about this type of thing.

    Thanks!

Ya it is 25e but if you send them back the chewed up one they will credit you back the 25e

Poke your Dog and see if it will change the channel.

    any luck with this ?

my small fellow decided he'd better put the remote somewhere safe !!!!! Unfortuantely an 18 month old thinks everything should be put in the bin for safe keeping. We noramlly check before we empty the bins but think we must have missed the remote.

Seems reasonable enough TBH, for comparison a replacement Sky+ remote will cost about the same (€32 if you want to be ripped off by Argos!), as goes for a universal replacement (One For All, etc.).

Unfortunately, topping that, my dogs have chewed 2 controllers - any idea how I can save 50 euro by not going through NTL as they weren't that helpful.?

You will only be credited if it is not your own fault that the remote is not working - to be honest if the dog chewed it then thats your own fault, just have to be more careful where you leave things.
Best option is to take it on the chin because if you have a genuine problem with it in the future in 6 months or so at least you have upc to fall back on whereas if you bought it elsewhere well then best of luck getting a refund
