    hi guys

can anyone help me with this one?

What over-riding motive should be present for a journalist to be able to refuse revealing his sources without fearing contempt of court?:)

Well one way would be to show the journalist's life is at risk if they were to reveal their source- this happened in a case inolving the IRA- can't remember the name but if you do a search on irishtimes or the like you might find an article on it

This question was covered in one of the many others you started asking the same question. It is not clear whether or not there is protection of journalistic sources in this jurisdiction. It is considered on a case by case basis. Full discussion from the Legal Discussion forum: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055991534

Anyone have any insights into what the Economic cost of taking on a case is to a solicitor. NB don't receive costs for years, but must take them on while "carrying" a case.
