Any one see last nights episode. Nearly had me in tears.

5 different types of people quite proud of their speeding.

Topic was speeding.. and one in particular part of the programme was where they showed
how a 19year old boy borrowed his mums range rover sport..

did 70mph in a 30 zone, and colided head on with a family in another jeep. completely ruined the life of a 1 year old,
who is now 4 and requires 24-hour care and medical assistance thanks to the accident!

19year old had 12months in prizon and served 6, and a 5 year ban.

This is how the little girl is now.

As a father I'm disturbed after seeing & hearing this thread. Shocking.

This is the raw face of reality when an unexperienced/overly-brave driver is let loose with too many horses.

On the positive side, it's great to see from the clip that the little girl is making progress over time.

Yeah, I caught some of that.

The family of the little girl had to rent another house across the road because the girls medical equipment was too big for their own house.

it doesn't take a highly powered car like a range rover to do damage... any car can kill someone when they crash, it's just idiots like that who make it so difficult for young people like me to drive nice cars.

Yeah was watching this too, heart breaking. I do have to say fair play to the lad for doing the interview, he knows he was an immature idiot and he can't fix it now. Got away too lightly though imho, only 6 months. It would be great if people who were involved in accidents like this would come out and explain it, a bit like this RSA ad. The most hard hitting imho.....

The one thing that did stand out was the lad who believes there is a difference between speeding and dangerous driving. I know not everyone agrees but I can see some point in what he's saying. I think speeding in cities/rural roads is dangerous driving without exception where speeding on a motorway to a certain extent is not. Now don't get me wrong speeding on motorways can be dangerous too.
    Any thoughts?

Googled the story, and came across this article: http://www.stormfront.org/forum/t484720/

The white supremacists amongst us don't take a very forgiving look at it anyway

Thanks for that read New Approch.
Imagine he didnt learn he's lesson!
Why couldn't they give him a lifetime ban from driving.
Just no Justice for the little mite.

Yeah watched that last night - Its gut wrenching, poor little thing. That driver should be forced to pay for her medical care for years to come..

Sentencing and time served was a total pi$$ take.

I agree that the sentencing was half nothing, and that once off compensation should have been paid. But you can't expect every person who crashes and causes injury to accept a never-ending medical bill, unless it's the insurance company who is going to pay it. No person could do that, and just because the driver ('s parents) in this case is wealthier than most, doesn't mean that they should be forced to pay for this forever. At the end of the day, people are stupid and crash every day and the victims unfortunately have to deal with the consequences, why should this person have to pay when others do not?

Her parents have to, by no fault of their own .... IMO there is something seriously wrong with that picture, Having to rent another house because of all the medical equipment to keep her alive etc etc.

I see your point, crashes DO happen all day everyday. But in this case an impact speed of 70+ mph in 30 zone just beggars belief. In such cases more harsh penalties should be applied.

That noob can just move on with his life now.

    Got off far too light.
