Never used it myself but I hear it does the job.

AFAIK OpenVPN is only the VPN client/server software.

You purchase service from a VPN operator using that software or a simpler method like PPTP.

I use http://www.my-private-network.co.uk and find them good but am considering cancelling that and trying http://www.blackvpn.com because they're a bit cheaper.

I regularly setup OpenVPN for people and you don't need to "purchase service" from anyone to use it. It is also Linux, MAC and Windows compatible.

    Want more info?

I use it to watch iPlayer, HuLu etc. Do the free OpenVPN server providers you use allow that? When I previously tried free VPN providers they were very slow.

You seem to be misunderstanding me.

You don't need a VPN service provider to use OpenVPN. Generally VPNs are used so that people can get access to LANs when they are out of the office or to connect remote offices to a main office. There is no service provider needed.

I'm pretty sure that the OP is looking for access into a VPN with something useful attached to it - i.e. the Internet not his office :)

Right and where did he say that then because I can't find it.

And why would he need a VPN client to access the net?

Is he trying to anonymise his access evading government capture?

Well, because that was may first reading of it and I checked out his previous posts and he asked the question more explicitly here.

Ahh, now I see where you are coming from.

Well there is more than one way to skin that cat too.

I have found using IPV6 a good way to get around that sort of thing and it doesn't cost.

Indications from a quick search are that Utorrent supports IPV6.

I would certainly try that before anything else for this application.

Are u suggesting that downloading illegal movies and music are useful? Perhaps I am being naive having not used torrents much but they don't seem to get used for much else.

The TOS for blackvpn state that '
    Copyright Violations

Although we do not monitor the traffic, incoming or outgoing connections of our users we may assign users to a unique IP address and log which user was assigned which IP address at a given time. If we receive a copyright violation notice from the appropriate copyright holder then we will forward the violation to the offending user and may terminate their account. We therefore ask our users not to distribute or transmit material which violates the copyright laws in either your country or the country in which our Service is hosted. '

Curious since their p2p servers is in the netherlands would anti piracy outfits be strong there?
