Out of Warranty replacements ?

Anyone know what the story with these is ?

I tried reading the terms and conditions on the apple website, its kind of a pitfall though.

As I stand, my iPhone screen will not turn on, and, having tried to replace it myself, and having inserted several third-party parts (the screen) in a vein attempt to fix it, does this leave me with no recourse ?

The iPhone is also jailbroken, and will not sync with my computer as there is a passcode, and no way of entering it due to the broken screen.

If you send it to Apple for repair, they'll inform you it's out of warranty but they'll give you A) an option of buying a refurb for just over €200 or B) the price of repair. That's what it said in the documentation when I sent mine off for warranty repair.

    Bump ! :)

(Sorry I usually hate it when people do that, but I think I've made about fifteen posts on all different mac forums and everyone is clueless as to my entitlements...and I'm kinda sketchy on ringing Apple, just in case I blow it ! ;))
