Sky Sports + ESPN

Hey guys, just have a fairly (hopefully) straightforward question.

I want to get Sky Sports (1,2,3 + 4) and ESPN from September onwards. What is the cheapest way to go about this?

I had Sky when I was in Belfast, but Im back home now and we only have the most basic UPC package here as no one else lived here who would avail of the sports channels. Obviously we get ESPN free with UPC. We have 3 UPC boxes in separate rooms, so any solution would require either sticking with UPC to keep these 3 boxes, or some other service that allows multiple boxes. Is adding Sky Sports to our current package the most basic way? Or is there an alternative method that could save a few quid?

    Thanks

Sky Sports with UPC was €30 up to last week. Now they have withdrawn Sky Sports from the Packages on their website. They are now charging €33 for Sky Sports, because Sky have increases for all their packages coming in from 1st Sept.

Thanks Kris. Can you cancel those channels after, say, 5 months and revert to what you were before? Or is there a minimum term on those channels?

Don't forget UPC will charge you a downgrade fee if you cancel the Sky Sports channels.

On sky u will need to take a basic pack starting off at €23 per month

    Add to this...

Sky sports 1 =€16 per month
Sky sports 2 =€16 per month

    Total €32 per month

Take both get sky sports 3 and 4 ...

    Take sky sports

and Espn = €12 per month

without sky sports Espn = €16.99 per month

Therefore basic pack + Sky Sports and Espn = €76 per month

At moment signup €49 for sky plus...€30 euro install... Total €79

    First month free subscription.

You can change your package on a monthly basis...no charge for this.

    Hope that helps..

Wait........ UPC aren't offering Sky Sports anymore? Or they're just not advertising it on their website?

I'm confused. I was about to switch from Sky to UPC.

Parents decision. We got equipment put on the house so we get a concession on TV, Phone and Broadband apparently.

Good enough reason I guess...best of luck with it..the picture and channel choice arent as good but if u got it cheaper how bad

Thanks folks. Seems to be easier and cheaper just to get them added to UPC.

Well Select extra 32 ( get ESPN and Setanta Ireland Free )
    Sports 33

So that is 65e per month for UPC

    So Sky is 79e
UPC 65e as a sports fan I know who I would go with if I could that is

Would it not cost more than €79 though? Remember, a minimum of 3 boxes would be needed for the house. I assume that adds to the monthly fee, or is it just a one off fee for multiroom?

Extra boxes from UPC cost an extra €8.50 per month.
Whatever you take on the first box you get on all additional boxes

Not sure but there used to be a €50 euro price for install of each box, this changes from time to time so ask to confirm...

No that much between them when you consider Sky will also give you all their red button sports coverage.

When did it go up to €8.50? I thought it was €5.00 per box and an extra fiver if you wanted Digital+ in a 2nd room.

If your in a UPC area get UPC digital. Options of very cheap phone and BB as well with them bundled in.

Dont forget Setanta on sky as well is 16€ a month, free with UPC.

    Setanta Sports 1 isn't free.

You are correct. €8.50 is the old price they used to charge for multi room.
