Confused about UPC Deals

    The €35.44 one has the following line in its T&Cs which the €40 one doesn't.
    Prices shown apply to existing Analogue TV customers only

    Other than that, they do indeed appear identical.

    I called up and they said the €40 is for existing digital customers, and €35.44 is for existing analogue customers. Not not sure why analogue customers get a discount, you'd think it would be the other way around? :confused: Anyway, if you don't have UPC tv at all it's €40 + €7.75 a month.

    No they don't, only the €34.44 one mentions "analogue TV" which UPC have since confirmed to you (thanks for clearing that up btw). They certainly could have made the distinction a lot lot clearer.

    The discount for analogue customers is the carrot to try and get them to make the move over to digital TV. Analogue TV uses up a lot more bandwidth than digital which could otherwise be put to more profitable use if there are no analogue users in that area.
