    Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice. I have absolutely no energy at all. I have a lot of things to do, people relying on me, and actually money to be made, but I just cannot get the energy to do it. I also have exams coming up and I'm really walking myself out of college with this attitude.

I woke up early this morning for example, and since then, I've just been sitting on the laptop, reading and out for the odd smoke or cup of coffee.

I feel apathetic and I guess I'm depressed. But if I step outside of the box, I've nothing to be depressed about really...

What should I do? How can I get myself to at least study?

Most people go through phases like this when they are at college.

When you need to study you will just check your email first.. then just go for a coffee.. then just check your email again.. then go for lunch...

And even when the pressure is really on, you'll decide to clean your house. Or mow the lawn.. or do anything that doesn't involve study!

Exercising is good - healthy body, healthy mind, etc etc.

Another good tip is to bring your laptop to the top of the tallest building you can find and throw it off. The internet is not your friend when you have plenty of notes to be studying.

    Exercise.

    Stop smoking.

Easy on the coffee, not good in the longer term.

    Drink water.

    Exercise.

    Set study goals, then study.

    Exercise.

Be at peace, but understand it takes work to get there,

When you wake up go for a small walk and drink plenty of water. Also get a shower and you should feel awake and have plenty of energy for the day.

Make sure your not over doing the sleep either, get 8 hours. Go to bed at 11 or 12 and get up at 7 or 8. Do it every night and your body will adjust to it.

Make a plan/timetable and stick to it.

Most times I waste time if I have something to do I find hard or boring :) but if you plan out your day it may help. List what you want to achieve in your day and schedule it out.

Exercise first thing in the morning.
Put your tracksuit/shorts, etc and runners beside your bed so you roll out of bed into them.

If you leave them in the washing machine or somewhere else you'll never get going.

A good start is half the battle

It'd be also worth paying a quick visit to your GP and ruling out any medical cause for your apathy just in case it's something simple like low levels of vitamins/ minerals.

OP I've been going through a similar thing to you for the past few months and I had a load of energy. One thing I've noticed is I don't get any exercise and my diet is fairly bad.

So like a lot of posters here said, I'm going to make a new start and get regular exercise. I hope to see a change. I'm sure I will though and you will probably too if you do some.
