    Hi,

I have recently changed back to a windows machine having worked on fedora/ubuntu.

Any advice or recommendations on which app, or how to get a virtual desktop manager running?

    Thanks

Yep, you should use the Sysinternals desktops utility. It's tiny, it works with Windows 7, and it's generally the business :)
