Wondering about the name of a film

    Hi folks,

I know this might be better in the film forum but it is a film about lesbian couples throughout the last century and I was hoping someone here might have seen it. It's basically (I think) four vignettes based on the problems faced by gay women. It is fictional but I recall one of the stories being about a couple who had lived together for years (closeted though IIRC) and when one dies, her family comes in and begins to remove her property with no regard for her partner (although they don't know that is what she is). There may also have been a couple who were trying to have a child (I could be wrong on this one though) and a 1950s lesbian who rode a motorcycle.

I know this is not much of a description as it's years since I saw it but was just hoping maybe someone knows what I'm talking about because Id love to watch it again.

I think it's If These Walls Could Talk, which was a made-for-TV movie. I think Vanessa Redgrave was in it? She gave a powerful performance if I remember correctly.

You're both geniuses! :D Can't believe that was originally made for TV. As I recall, it was a lot better than a lot of what I have seen in the cinema! I watched it when I was about 15 though so my taste levels may have been dodgier... :P

Thank you both very much. Cant wait to watch it again.

Yeah, it's a cracker movie, one of the great HBO specials, if I remember correctly. Had a great cast- Vanessa Redgrave, Chloe Sveginy, Michelle Williams, Sharon Stone and Ellen... Pretty decent soundtrack too, all very gay and exciting, when you're 16 and watching it on late night channel 4 with your hand on the remote ready switch if your Mam came in too suddenly... ah, the joys of youth...

The earlier 'If these walls could talk' is not so bad either, it dealt with abortion in different times.
'If these walls could talk 2' is responsible for Dido appearing on many lesbian 'lurve mixes'.
    :D

That and I fell in love with 'I'd love you to want me' by Lobo, it's the scene in the bar in the 70's vignette where they're dancing... super sexy song.
