    Heya,
I have a boxroom and well my single bed is just too small when my partner stays over. . I wouldnt be able to fit a double bed into my room but I have been looking into getting a small double. .Bargaintown and Argos do small doubles but they are more expensive than an actual double bed. . My Budget is tight, around 200-300euro. I would prefer to get the mattress included with the frame. Any suggestions??

It is a 4ft bed you are looking for.

Des Kelly can order one in for you - about €200 if I remember correctly.
Surprised you didn't see one in Bargaintown....

Argos tends to have reasonably good/expensive beds.

You could check does Ikea do one???

Would you maybe also check out freetrade on www.dublinwaste.ie you might get one for free?!

For lack of a better spot, I'm moving this to Home Appliances

Mods of Home & Garden, apologies in advance if there is a better spot.

I was in Des Kelly the other week and I think there was a pine bed that was a 4ft incl mattress. . Think it was around the 200euro mark. I got a bed from Ikea a few months back and it's falling apart already and Ikea dont do small doubles. I'd prefer to buy a new bed than to get a second hand bed to be honest. . Everything in my room is beechwood so the pine bed from Des kelly wouldnt suit! I bought a single bed from Ikea incl mattress for 125 and it was such a waste of money. . I'm stuck in a rut because if I buy a cheap bed again, chances are it'll be shoddily made but I dont want to spend too much on a bed either?:P

Really ... I've bought 2 double beds from Ikea and their fab, first one is still grand after a house move and 3 1/2 years. Wasn't by any means the most expensive either.

They do great mattresses too imo. Although if you don't put the bed together properly in the first place you'll have problems, usually its people forgetting to tighten the tension bars and to square up the bed properly.

DK do a divan 4ft. Tend not to have it on display. You need to ask them and they will order it for you.

Was the Ikea bed tightened after a few months or so?

My sister is just after getting a 4ft pine bed including mattress from www.bigmickey.ie in Longford for only €149. The mattress was an Airsprung. Delivery to dublin was free as they were passing her door. She noticed it on Donedeal. Here is the link

I know this place myself. I have done business there and highly recommend the place. There are hundreds of positive posts here on boards about www.bigmickey.ie

You payed far too much,if you look on donedeal you will see lots of bed shops (Dublin and Meath areas) selling small double beds (divans) with airsprung or memory foam mattress for as little as 200-250 euro, with free delievery too.;)
