Hi, my little daughter is getting Christened this Sunday and I was wondering do priests' expect you to give them a donation or is there some sort of fee involved?

I posted this in my local Forum but I got no replies.

    Thanks.

I dont know if they all "expect" anything but I know its usually the case that you give a donation.
Never been there myself but I know with a christening of a young brother years ago my parents gave the priest 20 Punts.
Probably roughly equal to a 50 in todays money.

€100 sovs, €50 from each side. If you're from a rich family that's usually doubled as parents or grandparents usually drop a 50 spot as well.

As I said, a guide price, others will have more recent experience of what to do in these situations....
