Im still awaiting my iphone4g from vodafone(ordered fri morn and still so sign of it!!) and want to know what plan is best value?

i was going to get the simply 100 with the 1gig add on which works out at :€30 for 100 mins & 100 texts and 1gig internet

then there is the 360 bundle €20 per month(breaks down to €12.09 for 100mb per day and €7.91 for calls and texts to other networks).
so does that mean for the month i could get up to 3.1gigs and free calls and texts VF to VF and €7.91 left for other networks?

What do people think is the best value,i wouldnt make much calls to other networks other than vodafone and id imagine i use up alot of internet(im never off it).
also if i went into a VF shop tomorrow with my new phone is that exactly the 360 bundle i would get and how it breaks down?

    thanks

edit:sorry if this isnt the right place for this,my first post...

How did you order it without choosing a price plan? Doesn't the price of the phone depend on that?

I personally went ready to go on the 360 "bundle"...

Sign up for 360 service and free calls and tests (to Vodafone) - then top up with €20. Suits me lovely as most of my friends are vodafone!

Works out cheaper in the long run too for me... :)

with the 360 bundle if you top up by €30 you get an extra €6.
you have to top up by €20 a month to keep the 360 package active so ill prob go with that and top up by €30,if i have any left over at the end of the month then €20,next month €30 and so on..
so would work out at about €25 a month, yea that looks good to me!

Oh yea im using my dads upgrade,he doesnt need a new phone and his bills are at least €100 a month so its only costing me €169!

If you top up by 30E online with vodafone in one go, you are rewarded 6E free credit.

Ah is it only online that you get the extra €6?i didnt know that..

so if i top up by €30 every second month it would actually only cost me €22.50 a month because of the free €6.

and for that ill get 3.1gig of data(100per day@31cent a day=€12.19)and free VF to VF calls.
this has to be the best package for someone who has mainly VF contacts!

Suits me alright - may not suit everyone! I have always been ready to go for well over a decade now so I decided to remain that way!

I have signed up for the 360 service but I am still been charged 99c a day for data usage. I may have to top up with €20 as I havnt topped up since getting my iphone (last Friday). Hopefully all will be sorted and plain sailing then...

One other thing - the 360 data service offer is
    available until September 30 2010
    - after that we dont know as of yet what will happen. So just giving you the heads up...

a few people on the VF website said the same thing about the 99c charge and the mods said its a problem with the systems, either post it over there or ring them and they'll sort it out for you there and then,id advise you to ring as im still waiting on a reply to still not having recived my phone...

on the package changing after sept30th,im almost sure once you sign up for it before then any changed wont effect you...?or maybe thats only for bill pay?

Sorry guys, I am lost here. Could someone care to explain this again for me.
So, in the 360 package. U have to top up by 20 euros every month to get unlimited vodafone to vodafone calls, right? Do u also get free internet worth 100 mb everyday with it? IS that what u all are saying?

Or do u have to pay for 99 cent everyday ( on top of the 20 euros) to get the 100 mb download allowance? Also , whats the deal with making calls to other networks (on the 360 package)? Any free minutes?

I just got my iphone 4 yesterday, I was thinking of opting the vodafone simply package and then going for the 10 euro/per month for 1 gig download allowance.

You are a bit lost alright ;) I'll try and help you as best as I can:

Firstly regarding the free calls and tests to other Vodafone users - there are different offers here.

You can log onto your My Vodafone on the vodafone.ie website and choose to select either:
    • Free calls & texts to Vodafone mobiles
    • Or free texts to any network
    • Then top up by just €20 every 30 days to keep getting your free offer all day, every day - for life!
You could also choose you go on the "Advantage Plus Pay as You Go Plan"
    Here's how it works:
    • Sign up for freecalls and texts & mobile internet: text FREENET to 50222 before October 31, 2010 (or you can sign up on My Vodafone)
    • Sign up for free any network texts & mobile internet: text TEXTNET to 50222 before October 31, 2010 (or you can sign up on My Vodafone)
    • Then just top up by at least €30 in one go every 30 days to keep getting your free calls, texts and internet
However this offer only allows 250MB of data per month.

There is no 360 package as such. On Prepay, Vodafone have a promotional 360 bundle with a daily allowance of 100MB. http://www.vodafone.ie/360/?ts=1280993017251
    If you're a Prepay customer
You pay daily as you use the service, and you only pay for the days you use. Our standard rate is 99c for a 50MB daily usage allowance, and €1 per MB thereafter (0.1c per KB).

    The Vodafone 360 Prepay bundle
If you buy a phone that's Vodafone 360 tailor-made or compatible, you'll probably start using data more often. With our new promotional Prepay bundle* you pay only up to €12.09 per month (based on 31 day month), deducted from your Prepay credit balance in equal amounts each day. You must top up by €20 in one month to get the bundle.

You'll also get a daily allowance of 100MB (up from 50MB on our standard rate), and it'll cost €1 per MB after your allowance is used.

To get the Vodafone 360 Prepay bundle, register for Vodafone 360 and start 360 services. Then we'll automatically switch you to the new rate. (And if you stop using the 360 services, we'll automatically switch you back to the standard daily rate of 99c per day).

    * Offer available until September 30 2010

When you download music, ringtones or other content, you also pay for the actual cost of the content.

So in my opinion - signing up to the Free calls & texts to Vodafone mobiles & 360 prepay bundle offers best value.

€20 a month to continue each service and a maximum of €12.09 on data to be taken your €20 credit each month. Which leaves €7.91 to spend on texts / calls to other networks etc.

For the 360 internet rates you also need to install People Sync from the App Store and sync your iPhone at least once a month to get the discounted rates.

Thats correct - to register for Vodafone 360. You will be sent a text to your phone with a link to download the 360 People Sync application. EASY!!! :)

does this offer (100mbs per day for 39.c) end after sept31?
so even if i sign up for it tomorrow it will go back to 50mbs per day for 99.c after the offer is over on the 31st sept?

Nobody knows - I have asked the question to the Vodafone Rep here on boards but as of yet - No Reply!

They may continue this offer like this have done on others but then again they may choose to discontinue it or re-jig it a little. Only time will tell!! :)

this really is the way to go with PAYG option of all the networks.

Well this is if you use data a lot.

For me something like €5 per month for 250MB would be enough. Also It would be separate to the top up, in that I don't have to top up by €20 per month to use it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 666 ✭✭✭Speckydodge

Thats the 3pay option is it Muffin?? its pretty good too but if i'm getting an iphone i think ill use more then 250mb a month.

If your a fan of YouTube 250mb will be useless to you... My sister considers herself an average user of YouTube and uses at least a gb per month for YouTube alone.

Only on my comp really. 24 inch monitor is nicer for viewing youtube.:p

Oh right well with 3pay they have an internet add on that takes €5 out of you credit that gives you 250mb per month if thats any good to you.

But Mondeo surely when she's at home shed use a laptop or connect over wifi so as not to use up her data allowance?? also does anyone have a rough estimate of how much data a match would use up streaming from the sky sports app?

I noticed last night that there is a new Advantage Plus PAYG price plan.

€30 topup gives you free Vodafone to Vodafone calls and texts and free internet (250MB).

What are the implications to them and myself say.
My sister wants to keep her nokia yet is entitled to an upgrade, if she avails of this upgrade will she need to change her sim or can i simply take the new phone and buy a new sim compatible with Iphone with my number on it?

Is there varying costs for an upgrade? She only spends 70€ a month i recon...

    Thanks.

I did it my self, you just put your sim in and away you go.
only thing is she has a new 18mt contract..
