    Anyone know exactly why?

I just paid €190 for wiper arms (the part that the blade clips onto) and even though I need them, I still think it's ridiculously expensive

    Because you paid it ?
If people didnt buy from a main dealers then they wouldnt be long reducing the prices.

with so many having gone out of business you would have assumed the other would have learned by now if that was the case...

Surely you could have got them somewhere else for less than that. Why did you let them go ahead at that price?

Erm, can't get them anywhere else....kind of answering my own question there but I've gotten other parts from breakers yards but they didn't have the wiper arms.

IMHO A lot of the costs on parts is driven by the manufacturer and not the dealer.
I would assume that as a main franchise dealer they have to sell OEM parts and are not allowed to sell cheaper supurious products. this will have a big effect on their costs of parts

did you really need new arms or did the dealer just tell you you did? its usually enough to fit new blades...

you could have just sanded them and sprayed them. cost ya 11.99.

I've already done that but the paint keeps chipping.

I priced them up north and once postage and everything is factored in, the price wasn't significantly different.

    ...tbh, it's not always true.

The rad in my Porsche got holed last week. Indy motorfactors quoted Stg280+VAT for the part. Porsche dealer (Agnews) were Stg 231.

In the end, got a rad built, locally, for €185.

That's less than you paid for 2 wipers !!

Sweet! That's the first time I've seen a dealers being cheaper than an indy! Especially considering that it's a Porsche dealer!

Not so: see it with Citroen and Ford a bit, too.

Oh, and those who Know, Know, that a Porsche is not expensive to drive anyway........;)
