    Can you all please advise on the best couriers, price and quality in Ireland for items up to 20 kg. Currently using Fastways which I find are good but wondering if there was any competition especially in the 3 - 4 kg sector.
    Also anyone have a good courier to ship 3 - 4 kg packages to UK. Price is important as our products are not expensive and high shipping costs prohibit the sales of such goods.

    I use DPD anything up to I think 25kg to UK and Ireland cost me 8.20 ex vat.In a few months I prob get it down again I hope. You mind me asking how much Fastways are costing you?

    Fastways are €10.00 for up to 20 kg in Ireland and €25.00 for the UK for up to 25 kg. The Ireland price is ok but the UK price is way too high. Have bee using GLS aswel and they were €12.00 for 3 kg to UK. Is your DPD rate a standard rate to UK or do you get a discount due to frequency of parcels?
    Transport costs seem particularly high here compared to UK. A UK based colleague sends 20 kg anywhere (except Highlands and Islands) in UK overnight for £6.00 stg, a good rate.

    Glenalla - you need to haggle a bit with fastway.

    If you are doing any sort of volume, (30 parcels a week) you should get it down to €6 / parcel for ireland & €15 for UK.

    Higher volume (100 + per week) will bring you under €5 / parcel for ireland & €12 for UK.

    Even if you have potential for volume, you may be able to get lower prices.

    An Post will also agree special rates for any sort of volume as will most others too.

    My rate to the UK I got form I haggling. I should be up for review soon so should the price down again well aleast in Ireland.
