UPS Delay

I've ordered an item and I'm tracking it via UPS's online tracking tool. The package is currently in Poland but has had the following status since about 10.30pm last night:

"A flight delayed occurred because of mechnical reasons".

And since then, there's been no update.

Reading between the lines I suspect the item was due to leave Poland last night but hasn't yet and unfortunately I suspect it's next stop is their base in Cologne which will probably add extra time onto the delivery time, rather than flying direct to Dublin from Poland.

Has anyone else experienced this with UPS and if so, by how much did it delay the delivery?

if the flight went technical its normally a 24 hours delay..
and yes you would be correct in saying it will go to cologne rather than direct to dublin

It would never go direct from Poland to Dublin. Cologne is their hub for Europe.

Even packages going from Paris to Dublin would go via cologne.

From experience the cologne UPS flight to dublin leaves about 4am local time and gets to Dublin about 5am local time.

So if your package got to cologne before 4am, it should be delivered today

    LANGENHAGEN, DE
    HERNE-BOERNIG, DE
    BARKING, GB
    TAMWORTH, GB
    DUBLIN, IE
    SHANNON, IE

Standard delivery i take it. That goes by road. Express and Express Saver go by air via Cologne.
