Driving Range Warning

    Guys,

Please be careful at driving ranges. Never cross the line to retrieve a ball even though it's only a couple of feet away. I've seen kids do this.

Last week a kid was killed when he did this.......he was struck on the head by a ball (by his brother I believe which makes it even more tragic).

If you see anyone crossing the line then have a quiet word and tell them that it isn't worth it.

My sister told me - she works with the mother. It was in Bangor, Co. Down. I believe the funeral was yesterday. Obviously devastating for the family.

Horrific! Was up at the Ulster Boys Under 15 at Rockmount yesterday and a lot of the lads and parents were chatting about it. Think of the mother also who brought the 2 boys down to the range to keep them busy during the holidays. God help them.

Jaysus that's shockin'.Played a round at the Blackwood Hamilton last year.Awful if it was indeed his brother, imagine the guilt he'll have to live with in the years to come, poor lad.

Wow - such a sad story and a real eye opener. That's me paranoid for life when my kids start golf at the range.

That is so sad, what a tragic accident. I have an 11 year old boy who has just started playing and Im constantly telling him to be careful on the course. Young kids will walk out onto oncoming fairways without thinking about the players teeing off towards them.
