Spam Messages From Golf Clubs

    I am receiving spam text messages from Hollystown Golf Club. They use a blocked number so I cannot unsubscribe - even though I have never given them permission to send anything to me. The last time I played there was a couple of years ago.... :mad:

    I've also been getting them from Pure Golf in Leopardstown Driving Range, who took my number from a lesson booking.

    I'm getting really pissed off with this.

    DON'T GIVE HOLLYSTOWN OR LEOPARDSTOWN YOUR NUMBER THEY WILL SEND YOU ****E.

    * & god knows who else they are selling your information to...

    Thanks, message sent to them. I don't expect to hear back, but hopefully I won't get anymore messages from either place.

    Has no one else had experience of this?

    Yes (from the Heritage), but I get so few of them I don't really mind. Also I am interested in hearing about their Opens etc.

    AFAIK - and I could be mistaken, but I'm 90% certain on this - a shop or retail outlet is permitted to contact you within 12 months of your last purchase of them if you gave them your contact details.

    Outside of 12 months there lies a problem.

    i have received some great deals via text/email from clubs direct
    it is the way forward IMO
